Found this elegant steel metal rice paper lamp at Target for $39.99. The white rice paper shade itself is ribbed making the light that shines through soft white. It stands fashionable in the corner of the room as it does not overpower the other furniture around it. The lamp exudes a contemporary look.

The base is silver-painted steel with a matte finish. Near the base there the electric cord has an on/off foot switch, making the lamp on and off extremely convenient (and for some bizarre reason fun). I'm actually surprised not a lot of floor lamps use this type of mechanism.

This Target rice paper lamp can be powered with three 60-watt bulbs (not included). Using light bulbs with higher wattage will turn your contemporary paper lamp into contemporary ash.
