No one can deny the sexyness of the
LG Chocolate television commercials. In fact it seems as if you can't walk two feet without bumping into a gigantic wall of "Chocolate" ads. Between LG's Chocolate cellphone and Justin Timberlake's "Sexy is Back" song the sexyness cliches are running rampant. So, you ask yourself, what is the big deal with the LG Chocolate phone?
We say, aside from the slick design, nothing. The LG Chocolate phone has very standard features and capabilities. The list includes: A standard 1.3 megapixel camera/video camera; Typical bluetooth capabilities; it plays music (both mp3 and wma); allows you to send video messages; supports both instant messaging and web browsing. The phone also has a port for a microSD card to store extra memory for your music and videos. Again, nothing really out of the ordinary as far as features are concerned.
As for ergonomics, the
LG Chocolate (VX8500) does live up to its name. The black besel frame is slick, although it acts like a magnet for fingerprints. On its face you will find a standard mp3 controls look-alike, the input keys and camera are both hidden underneath, so all you have to do is slide the input keys down or the camera up. Simple enough. The LG chocolate also weights only 3.53 ozs so it won't be weighing down your pants or snapping up purses any time soon. Usage time is approximately 210 minutes per charge.
Should you give in to the hype? No. The phone doesn't offer any new breakout features. However, if all you want is a sexy phone, the LG Chocolate does deliver a sweet treat.
